# How to use the LinkedIn Ad Library

The LinkedIn Ad Library shows every ad a company ran in the past year, free. How to search it, what the EU data shows, and how to keep the good ones.

*B2B LinkedIn ads saved in a Savepad folder*

**TLDR**

- Go to [linkedin.com/ad-library](https://www.linkedin.com/ad-library/), search a company or a keyword. Free, no login.
- You see every ad they ran in the past year: single images, carousels, video, documents, and text ads.
- For EU ads, click **View details** to see targeting parameters and impressions. That’s competitor research gold for B2B.

## Search it

1. Open the [LinkedIn Ad Library](https://www.linkedin.com/ad-library/).
2. Search by **advertiser** (the company page name) or by **keyword** in the ad copy.
3. Filter by **country** and **date range** if you want.
4. Click any ad for its details.

Searching by keyword is underrated. Try “free trial”, “demo”, or a competitor’s product category to see how the whole market words it.

## The EU targeting details

Because of the EU’s Digital Services Act, ads shown in Europe come with extra details. Click **View details** and you’ll see, roughly:

- Who paid for the ad
- When it ran
- An impressions range, by country
- The targeting parameters used: location, language, job function, seniority, company size, and so on

You won’t see exact numbers or budgets, but “this competitor targets heads of marketing at 200 to 1,000 person companies in Germany” is a lot more than you had.

## What good B2B ads look like

After a few hours in the library, the patterns get obvious. The ones that stick are specific (a number, a named problem), look native to the feed (often a document ad or a talking head, not a polished banner), and sell the next step, not the whole product. [LinkedIn ad examples](https://savepad.app/blog/linkedin-ad-examples) breaks down a handful.

## Keep the good ones

The library only shows a year, and ads vanish when they stop running. Screenshot the ones you like (document ads especially, page by page) and keep them in a swipe file with the targeting notes. Drop them into Savepad and search “demo”: you get every LinkedIn ad you saved that said it. Add the landing page link too, and Savepad snapshots the page the ad sent people to. The [ad swipe file](https://savepad.app/blog/ad-swipe-file) post has the setup, and the other free libraries are covered in the [Meta Ad Library](https://savepad.app/blog/meta-ad-library) and [Google Ads Transparency Center](https://savepad.app/blog/google-ads-transparency-center) guides.
