# Savepad Features

See it, save it, sort it. Your way. Here's everything Savepad does.

## Throw anything at it.

Seventeen kinds of thing, and Savepad knows what each one is. An email opens like an email, a PDF opens on the page that matched, a font gets a type tester and a recipe loses the life story.

- **Paste it and it is saved.** A link, an image, a snippet, a hex code. Press ⌘V anywhere in Savepad and it works out what you pasted.
- **A snapshot of every page.** A full-page screenshot at desktop and phone widths, plus a clean reading copy. When the page gets redesigned, you still have a copy of the one you liked.
- **Sequences.** A save that includes several saves in a specific order for things like an onboarding flow, a multi-step launch, a checkout flow, etc.
- **Collections.** A cluster of saves that belong together for things like a homepage hero that includes text, typography, visuals, and colours.
- **Originals stay original.** Full resolution and downloadable without recompression.

## Spaces, folders and tags. As deep as you like.

A space is the big bucket: Work, Side project, Home. Inside it go folders, and folders inside those. Tags cut across the lot. One save can sit in as many folders as it fits, in more than one space, and it is still one save.

*The Savepad sidebar with the Work space open: Unsorted, Paid social, Landing pages with Pricing and Heroes as nested folders, Lifecycle email, a Home space below, and tags at the bottom*

- **Spaces.** As many as you like. Keep your day job's saves away from your side hustle, or from the wedding planning, and make either one public without affecting the other.
- **Folders and nested folders.** Paid social, then Meta, then Carousels. Nest them as far as you need and drag them into whatever order makes sense to you.
- **Tags.** #dark-mode on a landing page and on an ad, without a third folder just for that. Filter by one tag or stack five at a time.
- **One save, many places.** That ad really belongs to Paid social, eCommerce AND Taglines? Then save it in all three. Edit the note once and it's edited everywhere.
- **Unsorted, for the pile.** Blitz-saving? Treat Unsorted as your dumping ground, and sort through it whenever you have a minute. Or not. No judgements.
- **Triage mode.** Sorting time? Play through your saves one at a time with full keyboard navigation built in.
- **Bulk everything.** Shift-select 30 saves and move, tag, favourite or delete them in one go. YOLO. Undo is one keystroke away anyways.
- **Saved views and rules.** Search, filter, then save it as a custom view.
- **Favourites.** Star the good stuff and find it again in one click.
- **A bin, just in case.** Deleted saves, folders and spaces sit in the bin for 30 days before they go for good.

## Grid, masonry, list or map.

Pick the layout that suits what is inside. Moodboards want masonry, research wants a list, a trip wants a map. Every folder remembers the one you picked.

*The same folder in four layouts: masonry, grid, list and map*

- **Masonry.** Images arrange based on their own shape to give you the classic moodboard view.
- **Grid.** Same-size cards in neat rows, if you feel that masonry is a bit too pro-chaos.
- **List.** Dense rows with the columns you choose: type, source, date, tags, size. Sort by any of them.
- **Map.** Any folder with places or routes in it can open as a map. Mexico City. But make it ✨pins✨
- **Timeline.** Saved sequences lay out their saves on a timeline, in the order they happened.
- **Sort by colour.** Every image has its palette pulled out, so you can sort by colour.

## Find it by what it said.

You remember "limited edition". You do not remember where you saved it. Search reads the pages, the PDFs, the emails, the code and the text in your screenshots, and shows you the line that matched.

*A search for "limited edition" matching a PDF, a landing page and an email, each with the matching words highlighted*

- **Full-text search.** Every word on every page, PDF, email, note, and snippet is easily searchable.
- **Text in your images.** Screenshots, scans and photos of whiteboards get read with OCR on our own servers to let you search them by text
- **Filters that stack.** Type, space, folder, tag, source, colour and date. "pictures of shawarma with red in them" is a real search.
- **Query syntax.** type:pdf, from:acme.dev, tag:pricing, before:2026. Type it or click it, same result.
- **⌘K from anywhere.** Search, jump to a folder or run a command without touching the trackpad.
- **Opens where it matched.** Searched for something on a PDF that happens to be on page 12? It opens there. Same for emails.

## It fills in the boring bits.

Every save gets its metadata pulled the moment it lands: titles, descriptions, dates, colours, text. Plain old parsing, the same answer every time. No model is guessing what your stuff is about.

*A saved landing page in reader view with the SEO panel open: title and description lengths, canonical, headings, structured data and the share image size*

- **Metadata.** Title, description, author, publish date, favicon and share image, from the page itself.
- **An SEO panel.** Title length, meta description, canonical, headings and structured data for every page you save. The bits you would open dev tools for.
- **Palettes.** Five colours out of every image, page screenshot and video thumbnail, with hex, RGB and OKLCH to copy.
- **Emails, parsed.** Sender, subject, preheader and the tool it was sent with, with tracking pixels stripped out.
- **Captions that already exist.** Saving a video from YouTube or Vimeo that comes with transcripts? We'll save it so you can search for parts of videos.
- **Broken link checks.** Savepad checks every link once a week and tells you which ones died. Snapshots saved will still live on in your spaces.

## Private by default. Public when you say so.

Everything you save is private, and search engines never see it. Want to show it off? Pick a username and make a space, a folder, a nested folder or a tag public. It lives at my.savepad.app/@yourname, with addresses that read the way your library does.

*A public Savepad address, my.savepad.app/@emilycarter/work/paid-social/meta, split into you, the space, the folder and the nested folder, with a list of spaces, folders and tags switched public or private*

- **Your own Savepad on the web.** my.savepad.app/@yourname shows whatever you made public. Go tease them with your taste, you.
- **Public at any level.** A whole space, one folder, a nested folder or everything with one tag. Mix and match, change your mind whenever.
- **Addresses that make sense.** my.savepad.app/@yourname/work/paid-social/meta. Rename a folder and the old address redirects to the new one.
- **Found on Google, if you want.** Public pages get proper titles, descriptions and share images, so search engines and your X/LinkedIn posts preview them properly. Private ones are never indexed.
- **Private links.** Send one save or one folder to one person. Add a password or an expiry, and kill the link whenever you like.
- **Look. Don't touch.** Visitors can browse and open things. They cannot edit, comment, or see anything you did not make public.

## Paste it, drop it or email it.

Savepad is a web app. On a laptop you paste and drop. On your phone you share things to your own Savepad email address, like you would send them to a friend. Everything lands in your Unsorted with the metadata already pulled.

*A phone sharing a recipe by email to a Savepad address, and the card landing in the Unsorted a second later*

- **Paste anywhere.** Links, images, text and code. ⌘V and it is saved from your clipboard, into whatever folder you are looking at.
- **Drag and drop.** One file or a whole folder of screenshots from your desktop. Savepad sorts out the types.
- **Email it in.** Your own address. Share from any app on your phone, forward a newsletter, or add +paid-social to file it straight into a folder.
- **Ad library links.** Paste a link from the Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn ad library and get the creative, the copy and the page it points at.
- **Install it.** The web app installs to your home screen or dock. On Android it shows up in the Share menu too.
- **Bring your old stuff.** Import from Raindrop, Pocket, Pinboard, Instapaper, your browser bookmarks or a CSV. Links get fetched and previewed again on the way in.

## Plays nicely with the rest.

Savepad has no AI, and it doesn't need to live in a walled garden either. There's a public API, an MCP server for the assistant you already use, and exports in formats other apps can read.

*Savepad in the middle, with the public API, the MCP server, email in, and imports and exports from Raindrop, Pocket, browser bookmarks, CSV, JSON and ZIP around it*

- **MCP server.** Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and let it save to and search your library, with the scopes you tick. Savepad never calls a model itself.
- **Email.** Forward a newsletter, or share a link from any app on your phone to your Savepad address, and it shows up in your Savepad.
- **Imports.** Raindrop, Pocket, Pinboard, Instapaper, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Arc, Edge and CSV.
- **Exports.** A ZIP with every file, plus HTML, CSV, JSON and Markdown. Whenever you like, on every plan.
- **Share images and embeds.** Public folders unfurl properly in Slack, LinkedIn, X and iMessage, because they have real share images.

## Your stuff stays yours.

A swipe file is private work. So it lives in the EU, nobody at Savepad browses it, analytics never see what is in it, and nothing you save ever goes near a model.

*Where Savepad keeps things: the database in Frankfurt, files on Cloudflare R2 in the EU, uploads on a separate domain, two-factor sign-in, analytics without URLs, masked session replays and no models*

- **Hosted in the EU.** The database in Frankfurt, files on Cloudflare R2 in its EU jurisdiction.
- **Uploads kept at arm’s length.** Your files are served from a separate domain, so a dodgy SVG or HTML file can never touch your account.
- **Analytics that look away.** We measure how the app gets used, never what you save. Nothing personal ever gets into analytics.
- **No training, no models.** Nothing you save is sent to a model or used to train one. OCR runs on our own servers.
- **Leave clean.** Export everything, then delete your account and it is purged. Need a GDPR wipe-out? Ping us!

## Fast with a keyboard. Fine without one.

Everything has a shortcut, and everything works with a screen reader. Savepad is built to WCAG 2.2 AA, because the European Accessibility Act says so and because it is the right call.

*Keyboard shortcuts: command or Ctrl K to search, J and K to move, E to file, T to tag, number keys to triage, command or Ctrl Z to undo and question mark for the rest*

- **Shortcuts for everything.** ⌘K to search, J and K to move, E to file, T to tag,? to see the rest.
- **Screen readers.** The grid, the folder tree and every viewer have proper roles and names. Tested with VoiceOver and NVDA.
- **Motion you can turn off.** Reduced motion is respected everywhere. Nothing autoplays.
- **Readable contrast.** Every colour clears 4.5:1 on its background. Dark, easy on the eyes, and you can still read it.

## That's the lot. Want in?

Savepad launches soon. Leave your email and I'll let you know when it's live.
