Swipe file websites

Public swipe file websites for ads, emails, landing pages, and copy: what each is good for, which are free, and how to keep what you find.

TLDR

  • Swipe file websites are other people’s curated collections: ads, emails, landing pages, and copy, sorted and often explained.
  • They’re brilliant for getting unstuck. They’re bad as your only swipe file, because you’ll never remember which site had that one example.
  • Browse there, save what you like into your own swipe file with a note on why.

For copy and direct response

Swiped.co breaks down classic and modern direct-response ads, sales letters, and emails line by line. If you write copy that’s supposed to sell, it’s the best free education there is.

Marketing Examples by Harry Dry is short, visual case studies of good marketing, each one explained in a few lines. It’s in pretty much every marketer’s bookmarks for a reason (and in mine).

Swipe File collects pricing pages, sales pages, and copy examples by theme.

For emails

Really Good Emails is the big one: thousands of emails, sorted by type and industry, with the code for many of them. Milled is a search engine for brand newsletters, good for “what does this brand send?”. More in the email swipe file post.

For landing pages and design

Land-book, Lapa Ninja, and SaaS Landing Page collect landing pages by industry and section. Mobbin and Page Flows do full app flows, onboarding included. The design inspiration websites post has the longer list.

For ads

The public ad libraries are the biggest swipe file websites there are: the Meta Ad Library, the TikTok Creative Center, and the LinkedIn Ad Library. Free, live, and every brand is in there.

Why you still need your own

Here’s the problem with browsing. You find a perfect example on a Tuesday, think “great, I’ll remember that”, and three weeks later you’re clicking through four of these sites trying to find it again. The site redesigned, the example moved, or it was on a different one entirely.

Your own swipe file fixes that, and it’s also where your taste builds up. The 40 things you saved and wrote a line about are worth more than the 40,000 on someone else’s site. The what is a swipe file post goes into that, and the swipe file examples post shows what people’s actually look like.

Savepad is built for exactly this: paste the link from any of these sites and you get a full-page snapshot, the text, and the colours, searchable forever. Free for 150 saves.

FAQ

What's the difference between a swipe file website and a swipe file?

A swipe file website is someone else's curated collection you can browse. Your swipe file is your own collection of what you liked, with your notes on why.

Are there free swipe file websites?

Yes. Swiped.co, Marketing Examples, Really Good Emails, and Land-book all have plenty to browse for free, with paid extras on some.

Can I save examples from these sites into my own swipe file?

Yes. Paste the example's link or screenshot it. In Savepad, a link gets a full-page snapshot and a screenshot gets its text read for search.
