A swipe file that actually works

A swipe file is where you save every example you've seen and liked, so you can steal from it later. Copywriters used shoeboxes. You're probably using Slack, Notion and a folder called inspo. Savepad is one place for all of it.

Before and after

How it goes now

  • Screenshot 11.02.47.png, times 400
  • A Notion page nobody has opened since 2023
  • Slack DMs to yourself
  • 214 starred emails in Gmail
  • Ad library links that die a month later

In Savepad

  • Ads saved straight from the ad library
  • The ad, its copy and its landing page together
  • Emails that open like emails
  • Onboarding flows kept in order
  • Everything searchable, screenshots included

How Savepad helps

  • Save it where you see it

Paste a link, drop a screenshot, or email it in from your phone.

  • Sort it however you like

Folders, tags, or just leave it unsorted. When you do get round to it, triage mode makes it quick.

  • Search what it said

Search reads pages, PDFs, emails and screenshots, so "limited edition" finds that landing page from three years ago.

  • Share one folder

Make a folder public, or send a private link to it. People see that folder and nothing else.

FAQs

What is a swipe file?

A collection of examples you've seen and liked, saved so you can steal from them later. Ads, landing pages, emails, headlines, onboarding flows, whatever.

Can I bring my old swipe file?

Yep. Import from Raindrop, Pocket, Pinboard, Instapaper, your browser bookmarks or a CSV.

Does Savepad tag things with AI?

Nope. Savepad pulls out the details, text and colours the old-fashioned way. The tags are yours.

Is it only for marketers?

It started there. But designers, product people and devs keep swipe files too, they just call them references or inspo.
